From the Principal

Athletics Season and Summer Trials

With the winter sport season ending in week 4 attention now turns to the GPS Athletics season, culminating in the AAGPS Athletics Carnival Saturday September 19, 2026.

Summer sport begins in week 7, with trials during sport time in weeks 7 and 8.

GPS athletes will keep their after school training during those two weeks while still trialling for summer sport.

Summer teams will be finalised by the end of week 8.

Multipurpose Centre

The contract for the multipurpose centre has been awarded.

Construction will commence in late September and is expected to be completed in the first half of 2027.

This is welcome news for our Table Tennis program, which has been without a dedicated training venue since the loss of its previous facility.

Students studying Design and Technology contributed initial concept designs for the project several years ago.

The Multipurpose Centre will be used for:

• A Table Tennis facility.
• An additional site for under cover meetings.
• An additional site for Fencing during winter.
• Other educational needs that require a large under cover venue.
